Mexican aerospace industry is expected to set another record in exports

MEXICO - Mexico's aerospace exports will break records in 2023, according to estimates by the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The value of these shipments is expected to reach US$9.4 billion, a growth of 16% compared to the previous year, in addition to being practically double the best year recorded in any fiscal year prior to the current administration.

The trend confirms the solid recovery of the aerospace sector, which was hit by the pandemic in a significant way but was already showing record figures.

The U.S. Department of Commerce believes that this has been possible because Mexico has improved its aerospace production capacity.

It has also added the entry of companies specialized in the aerospace sector; Mexico went from having close to 100 companies to 386 in the last 20 years, with the most important impulse corresponding to the last few years.
