Mexico Reports an Increase in Aerospace Equipment Manufacturing

According to the analysis of production and investment in the aerospace equipment manufacturing sector, the report recorded a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of US$102.2 billion in the first quarter of 2026, a 0.12% decline from the previous quarter.

According to the National Statistical Directory of Economic Units (DENUE) 2026, 135 economic units were recorded in the aerospace equipment manufacturing sector. Sonora, Chihuahua, and Baja California had the highest number of economic units.

Based on the data, it has been shown that the number of economic units in the aerospace equipment manufacturing sector has also been recorded based on the number of employees.

According to DENUE data, in May of this year, there were 9 companies with 0 to 10 employees—a figure similar to that of the previous period—and 20 companies with 11 to 50 employees, which is three more companies than in the previous period.

Similarly, it was reported that 20 companies with 51 to 100 employees were registered this year, an increase of five companies compared to the previous period. Additionally, 86 companies with more than 101 employees were also registered, an increase of ten companies compared to the previous period.

Although the period has not yet ended and the data on gross domestic product and foreign direct investment have not yet been compiled, the revised figures show an increase in aerospace manufacturing, which could continue to grow in the coming months.
