Mexico’s Aerospace Industry Targets Major Expansion by 2029

Mexico’s aerospace industry is on track for significant growth, with projections indicating that the sector could double its market value by 2029. The expansion is expected to be driven by new investments, advanced manufacturing capabilities, and the country’s increasing role in global aerospace supply chains.
Industry forecasts estimate that the Mexican aerospace market could reach approximately $22.7 billion within the next few years. The country has strengthened its position as a key supplier of aerospace components and continues to attract foreign investment from leading manufacturers seeking competitive production locations and skilled talent.
More than 350 aerospace companies currently operate across Mexico, generating over 50,000 direct jobs. Major industry hubs include Chihuahua, Querétaro, Baja California, Sonora, and Coahuila, where global manufacturers and suppliers have established production facilities serving international markets.
Recent investment announcements reflect growing confidence in the sector. Companies are expanding manufacturing capacity, upgrading technology, and increasing production to meet rising global demand for aircraft and aerospace systems. These investments are also supporting the development of local supply chains and specialized engineering capabilities.
Industry experts point to high-value segments such as aircraft engines, turbine components, maintenance services, and advanced aerospace systems as key drivers of future growth. The adoption of automation, precision manufacturing, and digital technologies is further enhancing Mexico’s competitiveness in the global aerospace market.
Despite some uncertainty surrounding future trade negotiations in North America, industry leaders remain optimistic about long-term prospects. Rising aircraft demand worldwide and ongoing supply-chain diversification continue to create opportunities for Mexico to attract new projects and strengthen its position as a strategic manufacturing destination.
As the industry expands, Mexico is expected to play an increasingly important role in the aerospace sector, reinforcing its status as one of the leading aerospace manufacturing hubs in the Americas.
