Nemak receives product, process innovation awards

Nemak, S.A.B. de C.V., a provider of innovative lightweighting solutions for the global automotive industry, has received double honors from the National Technology and Innovation Award (PNTi), which is overseen by Mexico’s Economy Ministry and National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt).Â
PNTi focuses on supporting the development of businesses and other organizations through the recognition, promotion, and facilitation of successful technology and innovation management processes.
Nemak participated in the categories of Process Innovation and Product Innovation, winning both of them.
“At Nemak, our support of research and innovation has enabled us to develop technologies which drive vehicle weight reduction and make mobility more sustainable. This award is a true honor for our company, providing us with added motivation to continue these important efforts,” said Armando Tamez, CEO of Nemak.
Armando Tamez received the awards from Mexico’s Economy Secretary, Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal, at a ceremony attended by members of the presidential cabinet, governors of several Mexican states, and business leaders, among other guests.
