Monzalvo to Lead Maersk Mexico

Jorge Monzalvo has been named the new CEO of Maersk, whose goal is to connect various points along the supply chains in Mexico.

The position will be assumed in January 2027, and his arrival coincides with the ongoing expansion of the company’s logistics network in the country, including storage services, warehouses, air freight, and ground transportation to connect the various points in the supply chains.

The executive will replace Patricia Pérez, the current CEO of Maersk Mexico, who is taking on new responsibilities in the United States. Monzalvo will assume the position after more than 20 years with the company, during which he has gained experience in Mexico, Panama, and China across sales, operations, finance, product management, and customer experience.

Throughout his career at Maersk, his responsibilities have included logistics service integration and customer service. One of his notable achievements was the launch of Sealand in Mexico, Maersk's brand focused on trade within the Americas. He later became Director of Customer Experience, a role in which he promoted initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and strengthen coordination between the commercial and operational departments.

Since January 2026, Monzalvo has led Maersk's land logistics operations in Mexico, a business that connects ports, industrial centers, and the U.S. border.

The company noted that the appointment comes as Mexico consolidates its position in manufacturing, exports, and logistics across North America, amid growing importance of connectivity between production centers and international markets for industrial operations.

Monzalvo, in turn, stated that his management strategy will focus on supporting customers' growth and making their supply chains more efficient and resilient. He also highlighted Mexico's significant opportunities in global trade and said Maersk aims to establish itself as a long-term partner in capitalizing on them.
