Natural gas as the foundation of industrial growth

Queretaro seeks to strengthen its industrial development through a strategy focused on energy availability, long-term planning, and attracting investment. During the Qro Energy Gas Forum, Governor Mauricio Kuri Gonzalez emphasized that the state’s economic growth requires sufficient energy infrastructure to support the arrival of new companies and job creation.

The event brought together representatives from the energy industry, international organizations, business leaders, experts, and government officials to analyze the challenges facing the Bajio region due to rising electricity demand driven by manufacturing and logistics expansion. The governor stated that energy has become a key factor for competitiveness, investment, and sustainability.

Natural gas represents a strategic alternative for strengthening electricity availability in the region, in addition to promoting more efficient industrial processes with lower emissions.

The forum addressed topics such as the growth of electricity demand, industrial decarbonization, energy efficiency, and electricity generation using natural gas. He noted that these factors are fundamental to strengthening the competitiveness of businesses and the reliability of the regional electricity system.
