Nissan Mexicana strengthens its strategy in Mexico

MEXICO - Nissan Mexicana announces the following executive appointments to further drive its brand and business strategy in the country, in line with plans to develop and strengthen the operation in both Mexico and South America.

Effective in August, Gerardo Fernández Aguilar, currently senior director of Marketing for Nissan Mexicana, assumes new responsibilities as vice president of Marketing & Sales for Nissan Mexicana (NMEX), Nissan Importers Business Unit (NIBU) and Nissan South America (NSAM).

Gerardo holds a degree in Business Administration from the Universidad del Valle de Mexico (UVM) and a postgraduate degree in Business Administration and Management from the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM).

Gerardo will remain based in Mexico City, reporting to Guy Rodriguez, president Nissan Mexicana, Nissan Importers Business Unit and Nissan South America and corporate vice president, Nissan Motor Co.

For his part, Humberto Campusano Gómez, currently senior director of Marketing & Sales at Nissan South America, assumes the position of senior director of Marketing at NMEX, based in Mexico City.

Humberto holds a degree in Civil Industrial Engineering from Centro Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico and an MBA in Business Administration and Management from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He has more than 20 years in the automotive industry, with experience in the areas of Marketing, Export, Product Planning and Sales.

Francisco Soto, current Director Customer Quality & Dealer Network Development (CQ/DND) of NMEX, NIBU and INFINITI assumes a new position as Senior Sales Director of NMEX.

Francisco has a degree in Business Administration from the Universidad del Valle de México (UVM). He has been with Nissan for 15 years with experience in different departments such as Sales Operations, Fleet, Customer Quality and Dealer Network Development.

Humberto and Francisco will report directly to Rodrigo Centeno, President and CEO of Nissan Mexicana.

With these new appointments, Nissan reinforces its commercial strategy in the region with a solid operation focused on Mexico and Latin America, establishing areas of opportunity for business growth and development of local talent.
