Organized business in Jalisco supports changes to Resico

The Guadalajara Chamber of Commerce has expressed its support for the changes proposed in the Federal Government’s 2027 Economic Package regarding the Simplified Trust-Based Tax System (Resico), particularly those aimed at simplifying tax compliance for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.

“Mainly because it provides more flexibility by raising the thresholds for inclusion in this classification,” the business organization said in a statement.

“This measure is particularly important for Jalisco, whose economic structure consists largely of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and family-owned businesses. It is these companies that generate jobs, sustain the economies of neighborhoods and municipalities, and form the foundation of numerous production chains,” they added.

According to the Guadalajara Chamber of Commerce, the proposal to raise the annual income limit for individuals registered with Resico from US$206,000 to US$294,000 represents a positive step.

“Simplifying the formalization process will allow a greater number of businesses to grow, hire staff, and access new opportunities without facing disproportionate administrative burdens,” the document states.
