Plan México development hubs report progress

The Mexico Plan has reported progress at its development hubs across various states in the country. This federal government industrial policy aims to strengthen national productive capacity by increasing domestic production for internal consumption, substituting imports, and bolstering foreign trade.

 Between June 2025 and June 2026, the Ministry of Economy designated the 14 Economic Development Hubs for Well-being (Podebi) in the states of Campeche, Chihuahua, Durango, the State of Mexico, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Michoacán, Puebla, Quintana Roo, Sinaloa, Sonora, Tamaulipas, Tlaxcala, and Veracruz.

Similarly, it has been reported that a total of six Podebis already have assigned developers or a defined and implemented financing plan, with committed investments totaling nearly US$17.4 million. The Huamantla, Tlaxcala, hub has taken first place with its infrastructure completed, an estimated investment of US$540 million, and the projected creation of more than 5,000 direct jobs.

Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo has reported that “Two decrees were issued offering incentives for private investment, specifically for 25 Economic Development Hubs for Well-being, 10 of which are already under development. Twenty-five of the 100 industrial parks we announced as a goal are already in operation.”

Meanwhile, the One-Stop Shop for Investors—a promotion and facilitation office aimed at streamlining investment procedures under the Plan Mexico—recorded 356,859 visits between September 2025 and June 2026, with 156,000 users from 134 countries. In addition, the Office of the Presidency for Investment Promotion has approved 19 projects totaling US$3.7 million in just four months, the president noted.
