Querétaro confirms investment of US$1.2 million
Over the course of the year, 33 private investment projects totaling US$1.2 million have been confirmed in Querétaro, creating more than 8,883 jobs, according to records from the Secretariat of Sustainable Development (Sedesu).
The number of projects represents 60% progress, while the amount of investment amounts to more than 70%, reflecting the continuous flow of productive investments, according to Sedesu Director Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero.
The jobs created by these investments exceed the 8,000 that were created during the same period last year; and they expect these talent needs to translate into secure employment.
Despite the unease caused by the review of the USMCA and the current economic climate, investment in the state has not slowed down.
However, it is acknowledged that the renegotiation process reflects the caution companies are exercising in pursuing their additional projects, even though a slowdown in capital investment is ruled out.
Among the investments announced this year, Siemens confirmed US$76.7 million to expand its industrial operations in Querétaro. Safran inaugurated Safran Aircraft Engines Services Americas Shop 2, representing an investment of US$140 million. LS Cable & System México expanded its investment plan from US$100 million to US$200 million, among other projects.
