CHETUMAL — Today started the construction works of the first warehouses built within the Chetumal Industrial Park in Quintana Roo.

The total investment amounts to US$74 million, but the first US$57 million will be allocated to the construction of the first spaces to house companies.

The head of the Ministry of Economic Development in Quintana Roo, Rosa Elena Lozano Vázquez, stressed that this turns out to be a watershed in the entity because of the investment potential that it opens to the south of the state.

One of the main potentials, she said, will be the export of manufactured products to Central and South America. The first stage of this construction will occupy 62,000 square meters of roofed industrial buildings. In total, the construction of 60 warehouses of 300, 600 and 1,200 square meters is planned for small and medium enterprises.

In a second stage, there will be 8 industrial buildings covering an area of 3,000 square meters and 3 warehouses occupying a 6,000 square meters area for larger firms.
