Ramos Arizpe: 45 years promoting GM manufacturing

General Motors de Mexico is celebrating the 45th anniversary of its Ramos Arizpe Complex in Coahuila, one of the company’s most iconic operations and a key site in the history of the country’s automotive manufacturing industry.
Since the formal start of operations, the complex has built a track record marked by innovation, quality, technological evolution, and a commitment to the community. Today, the Ramos Arizpe Complex comprises five plants and employs a team of more than 5,000 people, establishing itself as a driving force for development in Coahuila and for the national automotive industry.
The company’s production history reflects the complex’s ability to adapt to the industry’s various stages; its assembly lines have manufactured 27 vehicle models, and to date, it has produced more than 6.7 billion units, over 8 million engines, and more than 1.6 billion transmissions.
The impact of the Ramos Arizpe Complex also extends to the regional economy: its presence drove the development of Coahuila’s automotive cluster and the arrival of key component suppliers.
The complex’s anniversary recognizes a history built by people with talent, discipline, and pride, who have made its growth possible.
