Rey Panel speeds up Mexican manufacturing in Texas

Panel Rey has opened a new plant in Denton, Texas, as part of its expansion strategy in the United States and to mark its 40th anniversary in the construction industry.

The company is currently the largest producer of gypsum panels in Latin America; in addition to its operations in Mexico, it maintains a presence in the United States, Canada, Central America, and South America, with five production plants in Mexico and as part of Grupo PROMAX.

Attendees at the opening event included Nicolas Alverde, CEO of Grupo PROMAX; Gerard Hudspeth, Mayor of Denton; and James S. Taylor, Director of the Texas Office in Mexico, as well as local officials, distributors, contractors, and company executives.

Grupo PROMAX noted that the expansion marks a new phase for the company, which began more than a century ago as a family business and currently operates as a private Mexican conglomerate focused on the manufacture of gypsum board and the processing of zinc.
