RLX Invests US$100 Million in Querétaro Power Infrastructure
RLX has strengthened Querétaro’s energy infrastructure with the inauguration of a new electrical substation in Corregidora, representing an investment of nearly US$100 million.
Located in the Industrialix industrial park, the RLX substation features a dedicated 400-kilovolt transmission line—the highest voltage level currently operating in Mexico—and transformation capacity exceeding 1,000 MVA.
The project comes as Querétaro faces growing electricity demand driven by industrial automation, decarbonization efforts, and the expansion of data centers in the state. According to Querétaro’s Secretariat of Sustainable Development (SEDESU), the state is increasingly attracting technology-intensive operations involving robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence, all of which require reliable and high-quality power supply.
State and municipal authorities highlighted the infrastructure’s potential to strengthen Corregidora’s competitiveness and support the arrival of new industrial and technology projects. The investment is also expected to improve the conditions for companies seeking to establish or expand operations in the region.
Juan Bautista Guichard Cortina, CEO of INVEX Controladora, recognized the support provided by state and municipal authorities in facilitating the permits and procedures required to complete the project. Meanwhile, Corregidora officials described the substation as a strategic asset for attracting future investment.
The project reinforces Querétaro’s efforts to expand its energy capacity and ensure that infrastructure keeps pace with the state’s industrial and technological growth.
