Roca Defense & Systems Unveils the Pombero C-UAS Interceptor

Roca Defense & Systems Corporation has privately unveiled “Pombero” in Mexico—a low-cost C-UAS interceptor developed in Latin America, with Mexico serving as the main hub for prototyping, validation, and future manufacturing.

The system was presented to shareholders, employees, experts in aerospace technology and regulation, as well as representatives from various Latin American countries and specialized journalists from Spain, Mexico, and Argentina.

Pombero is currently in the prototype phase and undergoing a 30-day test campaign. During this 30-day testing period, Roca Defense will evaluate the system’s structural strength, propulsion, maneuverability, stability, reliability, and integration with SUPGOD, an operational intelligence and unmanned system coordination platform.

Gustavo Emiliano Fauez, Founder, CEO, and President of Roca Defense 6 Systems Corporation, has stated that the system will have a maximum weight of approximately three kilograms, depending on its configuration. It will integrate flight control, a data link, and a day/night camera, which allows for visual confirmation of the target while maintaining human oversight of the operations it is capable of performing.

Similarly, Fauez emphasized that if Pombero successfully completes its validation and Mexico becomes involved in its industrialization, the country could become a regional hub for producing, adapting, and maintaining a family of C-UAS solutions.
