MEXICALI, BC - Index Mexicali's Board of Directors was sworn in for the 2024-2025 period, headed by Mr. Salvador Maese Barraza.

During the swearing-in ceremony, the participants, committed to the sector, reaffirmed with Mrs. Norma Bustamante, Municipal President of the 24th Municipality of Mexicali, the commitment of the maquiladora and export manufacturing sector to the progress of this city.

The objective of this board of directors, as well as that of the companies belonging to the Index membership, is to achieve the improvement of the city and position Mexicali as the Capital of the State.

"The nearshoring projects in Mexicali and San Luis Río Colorado will be promoted as part of the efforts for the maquiladora export industry," said Salvador Maese Barraza.

He expressed that Mexicali is prepared to play an increasingly vital role as Ally-shoring as a mechanism of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), to have technical supply chains for the supply of essential inputs and services to trading partners.

Maese Barraza commented that currently at least 15 companies are looking for space in Mexicali with new investments, mostly from the United States, Asia and some lower European countries, which are the main investors in the region.

"We will promote a business empathy with society, academia, all stakeholders, friends and colleagues from business chambers for the solid industrial vocation of Mexicali," he concluded.
