LEÓN The arrival of Samtech Automotive Mexico to Guanajuato confirms the consolidation of Japanese investment in the entity, as well as the importation of the automotive industry into the state economy.

Yesterday, the governor of the entity, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, stated that Guanajuato is consolidating as the largest automotive cluster in Latin America with the inauguration of the Samtech Automotive Mexico plant, a company that made an investment of US$ 27 million for the construction of said facility.

"The plant located in the León-Bajío Pilba Industrial Park is generating 60 jobs, but with a growth perspective to reach 219 jobs next year," Rodriguez Vallejo said.

The opening of this firm, which produces gears, bearing rings and high pressure tanks, speaks of the Guanajuato brand being well priced in the international market, because it offers certainty, confidence and a clear path for investors, he stressed.

This is the first plant of the company that is built in Latin America, which is important news for León, for Guanajuato and for Mexico. Of course, it is great news for Japan, a country that is confirmed as the main economic partner of our state, he added.

The state executive said that, so far in the current administration, which began on September 26, 2018, 15 new companies have arrived, and others have announced major investments, such as Pepsico and P & G.
