San Luis Potosí Attracts Automotive Investments
Throughout the third quarter of 2026, San Luis Potosí reported two projects linked to the automotive industry: an expansion of Cummins' Mexico Logistics Center and an investment announcement by South Korean company Hansol Technics.
The Report on Automotive Investment in Mexico during Q3 2026, published by Cluster Industrial B2B, identifies Cummins' US$10 million investment. Both projects involve complementary activities, ranging from logistics services and process optimization to the production of electronic components for vehicles.
Cummins' expansion focuses on logistics services and includes investments in technology, facility and process improvements, safety, and route optimization at its Mexico Logistics Center.
Meanwhile, Hansol Technics specializes in manufacturing electronic gearshift systems, interior and exterior LED lighting, and wireless charging modules.
These projects reflect the diversity of activities within San Luis Potosí's automotive supply chain. While Cummins is strengthening its logistics capabilities and operational processes, Hansol Technics is expanding the state's expertise in electronic systems and vehicle components.
Investment figures for January through September provide a broader overview of the state's ability to attract new projects. According to the Automotive Investment Report in Mexico, Q3 2026, San Luis Potosí recorded six investments totaling US$139.5 million. Of this amount, US$83 million corresponded to direct automotive investments across five projects, expected to generate 763 jobs and involve 45,364 square meters of construction. Additionally, the industrial parks and infrastructure sector recorded one project worth US$56.5 million, expected to create 100 jobs.
The projects announced in San Luis Potosí offer opportunities in logistics services, technology, route optimization, electronic systems, lighting, structural components, and electric motor solutions. Manufacturers and suppliers with diverse capabilities provide a foundation for strengthening business relationships between companies already established in the state and those seeking to integrate into its supply chains.
