SLP leads export growth in Mexico

SAN LUIS POTOSI - At the end of 2023, San Luis Potosí stood out as the state with the highest annual increase in Mexico's export ranking, according to preliminary data from the Quarterly Exports by Federal Entity (ETEF).

The total value of exports from the state totaled US$6.3 billion during the fourth quarter, 31.5% higher compared to the same period in 2022, according to the study published by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).

In addition, this figure contributed with 4.6% to the total jump in exports, which consolidated the entity in the ninth position by the value of its exports in the export period.

During the fourth quarter of 2023, exports by state amounted to US$136 million, which represented an annual increase of 2.6%.

The states that contributed most to the total value were Chihuahua (13.2%), Coahuila (12.%), Nuevo León (10.4%), Baja California (10.4%) Guanajuato (7.2%) and Tamaulipas (6.3%).
