Stellantis Mexico produces 6 million Pentastar engines

SALTILLO, COAH - Stellantis Mexico celebrated the production of the 6 millionth Pentastar engine at the Motores Saltillo Sur plant. This engine is found in: Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep JT, Jeep Wrangler, Ram Promaster and Ram 1500.

This event was possible thanks to the commitment and dedication of the more than 1,000 employees who work there. They are responsible for producing an engine that is recognized worldwide for its high quality and technology.

The Stellantis family products assembled in Mexico have received awards from different vehicle and auto parts specialists, demonstrating the continuous commitment of the company and its employees to always be at the forefront.

The six millionth engine was a Pentastar V-6 3.6-liter JL BSG model, exported to the Toledo South Plant.

Currently, the multi-award-winning Pentastar is found in the latest models of: Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep JT, Jeep Wrangler, Ram Promaster and Ram 1500.

This engine has been recognized seven times by the prestigious specialized media WardsAuto in its list of the "10 Best Engines in the World".

"Six million engines are the result of the efforts of everyone who works at the plant, and I am very proud to have reached this number," said Carlos Rivera, Director of Manufacturing at Stellantis Mexico.

The Motores Saltillo Sur Plant was inaugurated in 2010 and in November 2016 obtained the Silver designation by World Class Manufacturing (WCM) becoming the first Plant in Mexico with this distinction. The designation recognizes the long-term commitment of the workforce to implement significant changes that ensure the future of the facility.
