Taiwan views Mexico as a key hub for trade

At Fastener Fair 2026, Simon Wang, president and CEO of TAITRA, highlighted the role Mexico is playing in the global restructuring of the fastener industry and its expansion.
Wang identified the fastener industry as a cross-cutting component for multiple industrial sectors, ranging from construction, automotive, and aerospace to semiconductors and electronics; he also noted that any transformation in global and industrial supply chains directly impacts this segment, which has historically relied on Taiwan as one of its main production hubs.
Wang stated that Mexico is establishing itself as a key destination for strengthening resilience and supply chains, particularly in light of the need to bring manufacturing closer to end markets.
TAITRA has begun to strengthen its support infrastructure through investment and trade centers, including operations in Dallas that serve as a link to the Mexican market. These centers aim to facilitate manufacturing diversification, internationalization, and adaptation, with the goal of increasing their ability to respond to global disruptions.
