Takaaki Kuga assumes the presidency of Toyota Motor de México

Takaaki Kuga assumes the presidency of Toyota Motor de México, after 20 years of service, during which Luis Lozano was in charge of this position, which includes commercial negotiations.

The former president of Toyota Motor de Mexico announced his retirement and the start of new challenges, including the beginning of his role as executive consultant to the company.

While the current vice president of corporate strategy and business development of Toyota Motor Sales de Mexico, who will succeed Luis Lozano will report to Sandra Phillips, senior vice president, enterprise integrity, chief sustainability officer, chief legal officer, Toyota Motor North America(TMNA).

“Takaaki Kuga will bring to Toyota Motor de Mexico global and regional experience, which includes more than a decade in Mexico,” said Phillips. “We are excited about this new phase for Toyota Motor de Mexico, led by Takaaki, and at the same time we wish Luis Lozano the best in his retirement from the company and in his role as an advisor."

Takaaki Kuga holds a degree in international economics from Sophia University in Tokyo and an MBA from Universidad Javeriana in Bogota. Prior to his work at Toyota, he began his career in 1993, working for Mitsui & Co; he was interim director in Colombia for Mitsui at SOFASA, an alliance with Toyota, Renault and Bavaria.
