Magna International Expands Its Presence in Mexico

By Sofia Ortiz
Magma International is a company responsible for a large portion of the global supply of auto parts; it routinely refines technologies that support the manufacture of auto parts in many essential aspects of automotive production.
The company has confirmed its interest in expanding operations in the state of Aguascalientes, given that Mexico has proven to be one of the leading countries in automotive production for North America, thanks to its major production centers, which demonstrate a strong strategy for supplying automotive components.
During a meeting with Aguascalientes Governor Tere Jiménez, the company expressed its interest in establishing operations in the state, highlighting the importance of the more significant presence the manufacturing company would thereby achieve in Mexico.
This exchange of views makes the government of Aguascalientes an attractive plan to develop the destination for international economic promotion, thereby captivating innovative industrial projects to strengthen competition within the state and expand opportunities for the development of the manufacturing sector in the country.
If the company decides to establish auto parts manufacturing facilities in the state, it would further strengthen the state’s position as one of the country’s manufacturing hubs, aided by the presence of companies in the sector that integrate domestic suppliers into their supply chains. If it comes to fruition, the company’s arrival would strengthen the state’s automotive supplier base, which in recent years has established itself as one of the country’s leading manufacturing hubs thanks to the concentration of companies in the sector and its integration with national supply chains.
Although the announcement was effective in publicizing Magma International’s plans, no further details were provided regarding this operation, the value and amount of the investment, the project’s location, or the number of jobs expected to be created.
However, Magma International’s vice president of government relations has stated that the company has a significant number of operations in 28 countries, with a network of more than 300 manufacturing facilities in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
