AGUASCALIENTES - Nissan Mexicana confirms that the US$700 million investment announced in May 2022 will be destined for the production of the new generation of the Nissan Kicks crossover at the Aguascalientes plant.

"Nissan Mexicana is a fundamental pillar for the company's global operations: not only are we the fourth most important market, but we are also a benchmark in terms of production, sales and human capital," said Rodrigo Centeno, president and CEO of Nissan Mexicana and INFINITI.

It is worth mentioning that this investment announcement confirms the company's confidence in the country, in the state of Aguascalientes, and in the talent of our employees.

With more than 60 years in the market, and 57 years since the beginning of manufacturing in Mexico, Nissan has created an indelible mark in the country's automotive history.

The vehicles produced by the company in Mexico are exported today to more than 80 markets around the world, combining the best of Japanese engineering with the excellence of the Mexican workforce.

Nissan's contribution in Mexico has had a positive impact on the country's economy, contributing 18% of the manufacturing GDP. Additionally, according to the Mexican Automotive Industry Association, the company represents 17.2% of Foreign Direct Investment in Mexico.

Nissan Kicks has established itself as one of the preferred vehicles for Mexican drivers looking for a compact, elegant, technological and adventurous crossover, accumulating a total of more than 124 units marketed in the country since it began sales in August 2016.
