Valeo Seeks to Improve Its Efficiency and Performance
Valeo, the French technology company that designs automotive parts and systems, is working to improve the efficiency and performance of electric cars by developing new technologies.
Electromobility is currently one of the major trends reshaping the automotive industry in Mexico, with global production of electric vehicles on the rise. What seemed like a gradual transition a few years ago is now seen as one of the clearest signs of acceleration, thanks to a wider selection of electric vehicles, a growing charging infrastructure, and consumers interested in more efficient and sustainable mobility options.
Thierry Mahé, vice president of Thermal Management Solutions for the Americas at Valeo, commented: “The growing adoption of electric vehicles shows that electromobility is gaining more and more momentum in Mexico and around the world. However, the sector’s potential will depend on the industry’s ability to develop technologies that make vehicles more efficient, safer, and more accessible.”
According to Fortune Business Insights, the global electric vehicle market was previously valued at US$927.6 billion and is now estimated to grow from US$1 billion in this period to US$2,1 billion in the distant future.
Meanwhile, Mexico points out that data from the Electric Mobility Association (EMA) show an average annual growth rate of 117.3% in sales of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles between one of the preceding periods and the current one, indicating that car sales doubled year over year.
“Innovation will continue to be the main driver of this transformation,” Mahé added.
The shift toward electromobility has been the result of an innovative ecosystem that is constantly evolving. As the adoption of electric vehicles increases, the automotive industry now faces new challenges related to range, charging times, energy efficiency, and component performance.
