Vemo and Kia Mexico have announced a partnership to promote the adoption of electric mobility in Mexico by expanding the country's public charging infrastructure.

Through this agreement, both companies have established a collaboration model to expand Kia's access to Vemo's public charging network, which is part of its integrated electromobility ecosystem. Under this arrangement, Kia customers can access Vemo's public charging network, one of the country's largest and most reliable.

“At Vemo, we continue working to make electric mobility accessible to more and more people. We are convinced that joining forces with leading companies in the automotive industry is key to accelerating electromobility,” said Carlos Levy, Director of Vemo Watts.

Vemo's charging stations included in the partnership are located at eight sites across Monterrey, Nuevo León: Paseo La Fe, Esfera Monterrey, Arboleda, Merco Linda Vista, ITESM Monterrey, EGADE Monterrey, Zambrano Hospital, and UANL Mederos. The first four locations feature three direct-current (DC) chargers each, while the remaining four offer alternating-current (AC) chargers.

“At Kia, we are convinced that the future of electric mobility depends not only on offering innovative vehicles but also on developing an ecosystem that facilitates their adoption. Our partnership with Vemo represents an important step toward providing our customers with more accessible and convenient charging solutions, giving them greater confidence and freedom on their journeys. We will continue working to promote more sustainable mobility and contribute to the development of electric mobility in Mexico,” said Kisoo Kim, Chief Sales Officer of Kia Mexico.

As part of the project's second phase, Kia and Vemo will identify new charging locations in Mexico City and Guadalajara, with an investment budget of US$268,000.

In this regard, Levy commented: “These three cities are part of Vemo's strategy to promote a clean mobility ecosystem in Mexico. Collaboration with manufacturers such as Kia is key to expanding charging infrastructure, strengthening our Watts network, and creating the conditions for more people to adopt electric mobility.”

Vemo operates a public charging network across 20 states, with more than 1,950 charging ports and over 120,000 charging sessions per month.

Kia customers can use the Vemo Watts app to locate charging stations, select the appropriate connector, manage charging sessions, make payments, and monitor charging progress in real time.
