Volaris is flying a new aircraft model: The A320neo
Mexico’s low cost carrier, headed by Enrique Beltranena, introduced its first Airbus A320neo at the Toluca International Airport. The plane has seating for 186 people, and it is the newest in the A320 family, whose main features are its new generation engines and Sharklets on the wing tips, which together result in a more than 15% reduction in fuel consumption, thereby making it Airbus’ most eco-friendly model. The plane is the first of a total order of 29 units of the same model, and a total of 44 A320’s, which the French company is slated to deliver between 2016 and 2020. Gerardo Ruiz Esparza, Director of the Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT), said that the arrival of this new aircraft speaks volumes of all the great things happening in Mexico, where valuable companies such as Volaris are reporting growth, investing capital and creating jobs.
