VOLMEX to Open New Plant in Aguascalientes
VOLMEX, a company based in Aguascalientes that manufactures vehicle bodies and trailers, has confirmed a new expansion project involving the construction of a plant in the municipality of Jesús María, Aguascalientes, with the aim of increasing its manufacturing capacity and expanding its presence in domestic and international markets.
The announcement was made during a meeting at the Government Palace, where company executives presented the initiative to Aguascalientes Governor Tere Jiménez, as well as state officials and representatives of the construction company JOMAQ.
According to José Luis Macías Alonso, CEO of VOLMEX, the new infrastructure will help increase the company’s production capacity, in addition to meeting the demand for specialized equipment in sectors such as construction, infrastructure, mining, and materials transportation.
The project will also seek to expand the company's commercial reach and strengthen its presence in the Mexican market. VOLMEX hopes to increase its presence in Central America and consolidate its products' access to the U.S. market.
“We are very pleased to announce to the governor our decision to make this investment in Aguascalientes to build a new plant in Jesús María,” said Macías Alonso, who also added that the company aims to increase its manufacturing capacity and expand into new markets.
This new operation will involve 40% participation from local suppliers, with the aim of strengthening the ties between the company and its supply chains.
This expansion complements VOLMEX's operations in the heavy-duty transportation equipment segment, particularly in the design, manufacture, and installation of tipping systems, semi-trailers, and other solutions for this sector.
