Women in leadership at General Motors

General Motors de Mexico announced the appointment of Teresa Cabello as Director of Central Quality; she will join the Mexico Executive Committee, strengthening the presence of women at the company’s highest levels of leadership.

With more than three decades of experience at GM, both in Mexico and the United States, Teresa Cabello has built a solid career in key areas such as manufacturing, engineering, product development, launches, global purchasing, and after-sales service.

Cabello holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Instituto Politecnico Nacional and a Master’s in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance from the Universidad del Valle de México. Her experience in electrification projects, advanced engineering, and global service positions her as a key player in GM’s quality strategy for the region.

With her appointment, GM Mexico’s Executive Committee now includes seven women, reaching a 36% female representation—the highest figure in the company’s history in the country.

This milestone reinforces General Motors’ commitment to diversity, inclusion, and women’s leadership in the automotive industry.
