Work on Tepic-Riviera Nayarit International Airport is concluded

TEPIC, NAY - With an investment of more than US$146 million, the modernization of the terminal building, the new control tower, the extension and rehabilitation of the runway, the new platforms and roads at the Tepic-Riviera Nayarit International Airport were completed.

In a press release, Grupo Aeroportuario Turístico Mexicano (GATM), made up of Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares (ASA) and Aeropuertos Mexicanos (AME), put into operation the airport infrastructure necessary to expand the operational capacities and national and international connectivity of this airport.

In the coming months, the new passenger terminal will be completed with an additional investment of US$93 million, bringing the total public-private investment to US$239 million.

The Tepic-Riviera Nayarit International Airport has become the main gateway to the Riviera Nayarit, thanks to its regional connectivity plan that makes the airport the central distribution point for tourism to the entire Nayarit coast, integrating itself to a network of highways that allow travel from end to end, from San Blas to Punta Mita.

The press release stated that, thanks to its modernization, strengthening and expansion, this airport has become a world-class air terminal, backed by a renovated infrastructure and first-class operational certifications.

He added that the immigration and customs services are now functional; in addition, the new runway configuration allowed for an international test flight to Los Angeles, California.

With this, an international airport with operational capacity to operate flights to and from Canada, the United States, Central America, South America and Europe has been declared.

The works at the Tepic-Riviera Nayarit International Airport significantly improve the airport's operational capacity and the user experience, through the remodeling and expansion of the current terminal and the construction of a new terminal building that allows us to offer state-of-the-art airport services.
