Yuichi Murata appointed new president of Honda de Mexico

MEXICO - As of April 1, 2024, Yuichi Murata, who has been with Honda for more than 18 years, assumed the position as the new president of Honda de Mexico, replacing Dai Fujikawa, who will assume a new assignment in China.

Yuichi Murata brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to operational excellence and continuous innovation. The executive has collaborated in the company holding different assignments, most recently as Director of Marketing and Sales at Honda Cars India Ltd for the last 3 years (April 2021 to March 2024).

Prior to that, from April 2019 to March 2021, he held the position of director of the North American Automobile Business Operations Department as well as director of the North American Automobile Business from the Global Office. In addition, he held the position of director of Automotive Business Sales at Honda Canada Inc, from April 2015 to March 2019.

These and previous positions, allowed Yuichi Murata to strengthen his expertise in managing the business, be a strong driver of sales and customer satisfaction while promoting sustainable growth.

Yuichi Murata arrives in Mexico with the objective of strengthening commercial operations; boosting and energizing production in the Mexican market -both for the local and export markets-; working closely with the distributor network to support them in their journey towards further growth; as well as exploring how Mexico can join the brand's sustainable initiatives at a global level.

Yuichi Murata thanks Dai Fujikawa for his outstanding work as president of Honda de Mexico, being that during his tenure important milestones were experienced in terms of production, celebrating the manufacture of 1 million motorcycles; in addition to promoting the arrival of the new Honda hybrids in the Mexican market, as well as including in the top of the range versions, the advanced Honda Sensing safety suite; thus promoting the zero collisions initiative with brand products.

"I thank Dai Fujikawa for the great work done and I am honored to assume the position as the new president of Honda de México. My main objective will be to gain market position, maintain our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, and boost our production operations," said Murata.

Along with this change, it was announced that Kazuhiro Takizawa, who served as president of Honda de Mexico from April 2019 to March 2021, assumed the role of head of the Honda North America region, succeeding Noriya Kaihara.

Under the leadership of Yuichi Murata in Mexico and Kazuhiro Takizawa in North America, Honda reaffirms its commitment to offer high quality products, as well as contribute to the growth of Honda's operations in the region.
