ZKW begins expansion of its Silao plant
SILAO, GTO - ZKW accelerates its international growth and invested in its Silao plant as a strategic orientation towards the U.S. vehicle market.
In a press release, the group announced that it officially began the third stage of expansion of the Mexican plant in Guanajuato with an additional 15,700 square meters.
The first stone was laid for the next phase of the expansion.
This will create a total of approximately 7,000 square meters of additional production space and 1,100 new jobs by 2025.
With the current plant expansion and the upcoming expansion plan until 2025, ZKW is investing more than 100 million euros in the Silao plant.
The company currently employs 1,658 people in Mexico, producing high-quality lighting systems.
ZKW has been creating high-quality headlights for automakers such as BMW, Ford Lincoln, General Motors, Mercedes Benz, Nissan Infiniti, Volkswagen and Volvo in Silao since 2016.
Starting in 2025, headlights and center lights for VW and GM will be manufactured at the plant.
They plan to produce around 4.5 million headlights per year with up to 4,000 employees.
This was explained by Dominique Boulegue, general manager of the plant in the country, during the laying of the first stone.
The firm uses state-of-the-art technologies and machinery, such as plastic injection molding plants, hard coating and painting systems, antifog and metal evaporation machines.
