The Scania company counts already with 25 tank trucks with a capacity of 60,000 liters ready to transport fuels. Enrique Enrich, CEO of the Swedish company, said that they are waiting for the government of President AndrĂ©s Manuel LĂłpez Obrador to confirm the order and eventually sign the contract, but he said he did not know the reasons why this has not happened yet. Even though the company said it was ready. According to SecretarĂa de Hacienda y CrĂ©dito PĂşblico, these units will cost US $ 2,738, 500.
Enrich stressed that the units they have available have state-of-the-art security equipment, automated boxes, ABS brakes and a very good visibility for operators since they want to contribute with safety on the roads. He added that they will also seek to offer the federal government the maintenance plan for the units, although he did not specify more details about this.
On the other hand, President LĂłpez Obrador, assured that there have been already  hired 700 drivers for these new pipes, which will remain in possession of SecretarĂa de la Defensa Nacional (SEDENA) and they will be mobilized as part of the so-called “DN-III E” plan to guarantee the supply of fuel in the country within the framework of the strategy against “huachicoleo”.
