6,000 openings in Tijuana maquiladoras

Tijuana maquiladoras have about 6,000 vacancies, according to the association of the Maquiladora Industry Index.  22,000 new jobs were created between February 2016 and February 2017, with the arrival of six companies and the expansion of established plants. According to the association, one fourth of the openings was found to be created due to people changing their job place. The total number of spaces available to work in the manufacturing industry was 18,000 last year and it has decreased because of the expansions.
