With a 3.5 million annual vehicle production, Mexico occupies the 7th spot in the global auto production ranking. The vehicle production in Aguascalientes, Guanajuato and San Luis Potosi (SLP) is around 1.5 million units. Out of every ten automobiles manufactured in Mexico, an average of 4 units have a "made in the Bajio" seal. Mexico is expected to produce 5 million units per year by 2020. If the geo-economic map of the industry does not change, besides the 130,000 vehicles General Motors produces in SLP, BMW will assemble 150,000 units in this State from 2019 onward. Toyota will manufacture in 200,000 automobiles annually in Guanajuato. And last but not least, Daimler-Nissan will manufacture up to 240,000 vehicles per year in Aguascalientes.
