Queretaro’s industrial activity records growth during December 2023

QUERETARO - In December 2023, industrial activity in the state of Querétaro experienced an increase of 0.4% compared to November 2023. In addition to an increase of 4.4% compared to the same month of the previous year.

The above, according to data from the Monthly Indicator of Industrial Activity by Federal Entity (IMAIEF) of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).

The IMAIEF releases these data that reflect the dynamism and diversification of industrial activity in the state and national panorama. This makes it possible to show the areas of growth and opportunities for economic development in various regions of the country.

According to the original data and at an annual rate, the Mining sector in Querétaro stood out with a 10.8% growth. With this, the state was the second state with the greatest progress in this area at the national level, followed only by Tamaulipas.

In terms of the generation, transmission, distribution and commercialization of electricity, as well as the supply of water and natural gas through pipelines, Querétaro ranked sixth at the national level with an increase of 11.4%.

On the other hand, in the construction sector, Querétaro ranked fifth among the states with the highest increases, with an increase of 41.1%. The top positions in this sector went to Quintana Roo, Campeche, Chiapas and Aguascalientes.

It is worth mentioning that INEGI's IMAIEF provides short-term statistical information at the state level, allowing to follow the behavior of secondary activities in the different states.

Likewise, INEGI reported on the states that registered the highest monthly and annual growth in their industrial activity. In December 2023, at monthly rate, Tabasco, Baja California Sur, Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave, Yucatan, Quintana Roo and Chiapas stood out with the highest advances.

In annual terms, the states with the most significant increases were Quintana Roo, Aguascalientes, Chiapas, Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave, Yucatan and Campeche.
