Makino invests in Technological Innovation Center in Querétaro

QUERETARO - The governor of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri González, led the groundbreaking ceremony for Makino Mexico's Innovation Technology Center, an investment of close to US$20.6 million that will generate more than 200 highly specialized jobs.

This center will focus on turnkey manufacturing and advanced automation projects, with the aim of offering comprehensive solutions to meet the challenges of nearshoring.

During the event, the Secretary of Sustainable Development (SEDESU), Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, emphasized that the center will be fundamental for local companies, allowing the implementation of local support and technology that will increase their operational efficiency.

"More than 34,000 Queretaro men and women demonstrate their talent and commitment by working in this sector,” he said.

Del Prete highlighted the importance of Japan as Queretaro's seventh largest trading partner and pointed out that Makino's investment will strengthen the flow of Japanese capital, thanks to the collaboration between academia, industry and government.

'Querétaro is a land of opportunities,' he affirmed, inviting everyone to work together to make the state a national reference in quality of life and business growth.

Peter Hoecklin, CEO of Makino Inc. emphasized that Mexico is one of the most attractive countries for foreign direct investment, thanks to its geographic location, competitive costs and young population.

The new center will not only feature a state-of-the-art showroom, but will also allow for the adaptation of machines to unique customer applications and provide training programs for staff.
