Coahuila’s competitive advantages exposed at North Capital Forum

COAHUILA - During the “North Capital Forum” that took place from October 2 to 4 in Mexico City, some of the competitive advantages offered by the state of Coahuila were presented, in addition to analyzing some of the investment plans that could arrive soon to the state.

As part of the forum activities, the governor of Coahuila, Manolo Jimenez met with CEOs and executives of companies with presence in the state such as Stellantis, Martinrrea, Iberdrola, Daimler, GM, Constellation Brands and Magna to analyze their future investment plans.

“We had the opportunity to share at the North Capital Forum why our state is a unique and ideal investment destination. We have established ourselves as a key industrial engine, with strong growth in the automotive and manufacturing sectors. We have a strategic location, excellent infrastructure and highly qualified human capital. In Coahuila we offer legal certainty, security and stability for those who seek to invest and grow with us,” said Jiménez.

World-class companies, entrepreneurs, economic institutions and academia from Canada, the United States and Mexico participated in this forum.

Jimenez Salinas participated in the panel “Electric Avenue: North America's Role in the EV Transition”, and in the panel ‘Chasing Cars’.

The North Capital Forum brings together industry leaders, investors and finance experts to discuss current trends in the capital markets. It also provides a platform for the exchange of ideas and networking, focusing on investment opportunities and economic development in the region.

This year's event featured more than 40 panels, with more than 150 speakers, including Governor Manolo Jimenez.

During his participation, Jimenez highlighted that Coahuila has all the conditions to be a leader in Mexico's transition to electric vehicles. He pointed out that the strategic location, the solid industrial base, and above all, the skilled labor force with almost 50 years of experience in the automotive industry, make Coahuila an ideal center for the production of electric vehicles.

He mentioned that the state is the number one producer of electric vehicles in Mexico, according to INEGI; and that the goal of his administration is to continue leveraging these strengths to support North America's competitiveness in the electric vehicle market, ensuring that the state remains at the forefront of automotive innovation.

Manolo Jimenez expressed that a solid household goods cluster operates in the state, made up of international companies such as Milwaukee Tools, LaZ Boy, Palliser, Whirlpool, Mabe and Lennox, among others.
