Around 16 companies have plans to set up in Puebla

PUEBLA - The state Ministry of Economy and Labor has around 16 companies interested in setting up in industrial parks in the interior of the state, so it expects them to materialize from the second half of the year onwards.
Víctor Gabriel Chedraui, head of the agency, commented that talks are at an advanced stage with investors from different sectors.
In the case of the Ciudad Modelo industrial park, located in San José Chiapa, where the automotive plant of Audi is located, he said that eight companies are interested in setting up in the area.
He commented that these factories are mainly in the automotive industry, and that they were attracted by the availability of land on which to set up.
He added that in a factory complex in Tehuacán, covering around 30 hectares, there are another six companies in the area that want to open this year.
He also said that in the municipality of Ahuazotepec, there is interest from a developer in building a 45-hectare industrial park.
Gabriel Chedraui said that in the municipality of San Martín Texmelucan, where they have 25 hectares for industry, two companies are interested in setting up.
He indicated that they are following up on the plans of each company so that they can finalize their investments.
With regard to the amounts involved in each project, the creation of jobs and the sectors involved, the Minister of the Economy and Labor said that he could not yet give details for reasons of confidentiality.
He said that it would be the governor, Alejandro Armenta Mier, who would make the investment announcements, after reiterating that it would be this year when the projects would start to be set up.
He indicated that this administration will give a greater boost to industry, not only automotive but also in other areas, so that productive activity is diversified.
According to data from the state government itself, 600 hectares available in the state have been identified for industry.
