ABB inaugurates expansion in San Luis Potosí

The global company ABB, which specializes in electrification, automation, and robotics technologies, inaugurated the expansion of its plant in San Luis Potosí, reaffirming its commitment to the state's industrial and technological development.
During the inauguration, the head of the Secretariat of Economic Development (SEDECO), Jesús Salvador González Martínez, highlighted that the arrival and expansion of global companies such as ABB reflects the state's economic dynamism and the favorable environment it offers for investment.
ABB in San Luis Potosí already employs more than 1,600 people, and this new phase reaffirms its commitment to local talent, as well as to the logistics infrastructure and connectivity offered by the state to operate globally.
Similarly, the plant has become a strategic hub for advanced manufacturing in Mexico, integrating smart solutions that support the energy and industrial transition.
In other words, it produces key technology for modern electrification, combining tradition in heavy manufacturing with digital innovation, and supplies the energy, industrial, and automotive sectors.
In this sense, with an investment of US$12.1 million and the creation of 223 new jobs, the company is strengthening its presence in the region and contributing to the state's positioning as a key destination for innovation.
The new phase of the industrial complex, located in the WTC Logistics Park, increases the operational capacity of the production campus by 50%.
The expansion also adds 10,000 square meters to its facilities, consolidating one of the company's most modern sites in Mexico.
This development integrates sustainable solutions, such as the use of energy generated in its own solar park, which covers 70% of the plant's total consumption, earning it national recognition for its energy efficiency.
