Handicaps in the workers’ economy

“Workers’ savings in Mexico saw a loss of US$24.161 billion in March 2026—the first such loss after 10 consecutive months of gains—but have shown gains in the first few days of April,” revealed the National Commission for the Retirement Savings System (CONSAR).
The cumulative balance for the first quarter of the year stood at a loss of US$6.403 billion; however—CONSAR added—at the end of April, the Retirement Savings System (SAR) recorded gains of US$21.829 billion, and from January to date, the figures total US$15.426 billion, reflecting improved performance in international financial markets.
Currently, the assets managed by the system total US$480.541 billion, equivalent to more than 24% of GDP.
