The Bajio region drives die-casting industry

The Bajio region is facing increased demand for die-casting processes, driven by adjustments in supply chains and the need to increase regional content in manufacturing.

In an interview during Die Casting Expo 2026, Enrique Quezada—president of Index Queretaro—noted that local supply has become a cornerstone for industries such as automotive, aerospace, and home appliances based in Queretaro; and that the development of capabilities in the region allows companies to reduce costs associated with tariffs and comply with content requirements established in trade agreements.

Regarding the level of integration between die-casting companies and sectors such as the automotive and home appliance industries, Quezada acknowledged that it remains limited, noting that the required volumes and technical specifications—especially in industries like automotive and aerospace—pose a challenge for local suppliers.

Finally, Quezada noted that Index Queretaro is working with member companies, authorities, and other organizations to identify needs, improve sectoral coordination, and reduce operating costs to accelerate the transformation of the global industry.
