Mexican companies are now measuring their carbon footprints

Sustainability is now a reality for Mexican companies, as it has been reported that 55% of these companies measure their carbon footprint. As a result, it is now firmly established as a strategic indicator for Mexican supply chains. More and more companies are beginning to measure their carbon footprints, incorporating this change into their logistics operations—a shift that has been driven by customer demands and environmental goals, which are now part of the sector’s competitive landscape.

This fourth edition of the National Study of Logistics Indicators shows that 55% of the companies participating in this analysis now measure their carbon footprint. The study surveyed more than 160 companies from various productive sectors, illustrating the evolution of a wide variety of Mexican supply chains using 17 performance indicators.

However, there is also a significant difference among these companies, as those with revenues of less than US$18 million account for barely 18%.

José Ambe, CEO of Logistica De Mexico (LDM), has commented that this adaptation by companies with environmental indicators provides an analysis and insight into the shift in strategic vision.

“Sustainability continues to gain ground on the logistics agenda, and there is an opportunity to continue incorporating these types of indicators as part of organizations' strategies,” the CEO argues.
