With an investment valued at US$160 million and the creation of 700 jobs to build this plant, Iberdrola Mexico is going to build a wind energy central in Guanajuato. This project consists of an energy station with 50 wind generators with installed capacity of 105MW, on a 200 hectares extension, located in the municipality of San Felipe. The company is currently undergoing a construction process of eight electricity generating plants made with a US$3.5 million investment, and plans to invest US$1.2 billion more between 2018 and 2022, for renewable energy and combined cycle gas generators. This is considered one of the most important international projects in Iberdrola's history.
