CONTECON Manzanillo Breaks Record with 4,000 Containers in Two Days

CONTECON Manzanillo handled an average of 2,000 import containers over a 24-hour period on two days in August, setting a new operational record for the terminal and coming close to handling nearly 4,000 containers in two days.

This volume was achieved thanks to the expansion of the windows for the removal of goods and coordination between the terminal and the Manzanillo customs office. Among the factors contributing to this result was the implementation of the 24/2 schedule, which allowed customs operations to continue for 24 consecutive hours from Thursday to Friday.

The model has extended the available time frame for scheduling cargo pickup appointments, allowing carriers to maintain the continuity of their operations without having to concentrate container departures into shorter time windows.

The increase in capacity is linked to the investments made by CONTECON Manzanillo since 2023 in infrastructure and operations, as well as the adjustments implemented in collaboration with customs authorities to ensure greater continuity in the clearance of goods.
