The Villanueva Solar Park, which was inaugurated in Coahuila by Enel Power Energy, has more than 2,300 million solar panels distributed over 3,000 hectares, thus becoming the largest solar park in America, and second in the world. With investment valued at US$650 million, the construction is now 80% complete and it will have an hourly generation capacity of 1,700 gigawatts upon its full completion in June; that is enough energy to serve 1.3 million homes. More than 2,500 workers will be hired during the peak phase of the construction project.
