Querétaro Expected to Maintain Pace of Investment

Although 2026 has been a difficult year for economic activity, the local business community perceives a positive outlook for investment and reinvestment, according to Alejandro Maccise Aguirre, president of the Querétaro Industrialists' Club (CIQ).

He added that the Mexican economy is showing signs of improvement, which is boosting confidence in the private sector.

“As such, it has been a challenging year for the national economy, but in Querétaro we sense a positive outlook for continuing with investments, growth projects, consolidation, and reinvestment within the companies themselves. We see signs of improvement and recovery on the national level, and that is fostering greater confidence,” he said.

For the business leader, policies to attract investment and the development of key industries are among the factors that bolster expectations for the end of 2026.

“Of course, the factors that make it possible to maintain this outlook—to continue planning for future investments and growth—are related to certainty, the peaceful environment in the state, and the quality of life; combined with strategies to attract investment and develop very specific industries—such as information technology and data centers—these factors are sending positive signals about the economy and creating a positive outlook for the end of the year,” he stated.

However, next year the economy will enter a different phase, shaped by the electoral process. In this context, he noted that some business leaders are holding back on their decisions, depending on how that phase unfolds, while the local business community plans to move forward with its investment projects.

Similarly, he emphasized that the outlook for the state economy in 2026 points to positive indicators, including job creation and a growth rate above the national average; however, he also clarified that this must be a sustained trend for the local economy.
