Taiwan Strengthens Its Technological and Business Partnership with Mexico

Taiwan and Mexico are expanding their economic relationship by focusing on technology and advanced manufacturing, given that more than 300 Taiwanese companies generate approximately 70,000 direct jobs in the country, in addition to bilateral trade, which is projected to reach more than US$48.2 billion by 2025.

At the reception marking the 115th anniversary of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Violeta Hsu, director general of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Mexico, highlighted the participation of Taipei-based companies in international supply chains for artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and servers.

The diplomatic representative explained that Taiwan possesses the most significant capabilities in the manufacture of advanced semiconductors and servers for artificial intelligence—industries that maintain a growing connection to manufacturing operations already established in Mexico.

According to Hsu, in 2025 Taiwan ranked third among Mexico’s trading partners, with bilateral trade totaling more than US$48.2 billion, driven by growth in the technology sectors of Taiwanese companies involved in artificial intelligence.

Taiwan's business presence has grown in various regions of the country, encompassing activities ranging from electronic engineering to advanced manufacturing, with investments that have created opportunities for suppliers in Mexico, as well as new links in the supply chain.
