German manufacturer Mankiewicz to set up a plant in Querétaro
The German manufacturer of coating solutions, Mankiewicz, has decided to invest US$25 million to build a plant in Corregidora, Querétaro.
The project is expected to create 214 jobs, according to the state’s Secretariat of Sustainable Development (Sedesu).
Company executives, the mayor of Corregidora, Chepe Guerrero, and Querétaro’s Secretary of Sustainable Development, Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, laid the cornerstone for the new plant to be built in the Industrialix Industrial Park.
The head of Sedesu, Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, emphasized that this project reaffirms investors trust in the country and the state.
Similarly, he noted that the company’s growth in the state, he said, stems from having found specialized talent to meet the new demands of industrial evolution. He explained that the state's competitiveness is linked to the development of talent, the availability of suppliers, infrastructure, and conditions for business development.
That said, he also highlighted Querétaro’s second-place ranking in the 2026 State Competitiveness Index published by the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness (IMCO), which, as the governor emphasized, demonstrates the collaboration between businesses, universities, workers, and governments, coupled with economic diversification.
For his part, the mayor of Corregidora, Chepe Guerrero, expressed his gratitude for the company’s trust and highlighted the importance of attracting investments that drive job creation. He noted that the establishment of businesses is a way to combat poverty and create opportunities for the population.
