The New International Airport of Mexico (NAIM) estimates to have an economic spillover of approximately US$2.3 million in its first year of operations, according to calculations by the National Chamber of Air Transportation (Canaero). This amount represents a flow of approximately 62 million passengers, with a segment of 50 million of them expected to pay an average Airport Use Rate (TUA) of US$1.84. A potential US$1.7 billion may be raised just from this item, said the president of this organization, Sergio Allard. Additionally, Canaero calculates that the new air terminal will be able to obtain about 30% of its revenues from leased space and airlines' fees.
